New Moon in Sagittarius - Upgrading The Story Arc 🏹

Ready... Aim... Fire!!! The arrows of transition are in the air and we are feeling the divine power that is circulating Spirit's flames through our bones! I don't know about you folks, but since the Sun moved into Sagittarius on the 22nd, I can feel that lightening and that enthusiasm that may have been missing in the prior months... and through all the changes and re-alignments that have been seeding in our earthly stories, this shot of optimism and positive re-framing is a God-sent in carrying this story along.

Sagittarius energy, in general, embodies a mutable fire that helps to inspire adventure and provide motivation to experience variety in life - essentially the drive to find greener pastures and conquer uncharted lands. And this is exactly what this season wants of us, as many of us know that the narrative is changing, and we need to be game to step towards the call of adventure. This train is moving along and fire spreads with a quickness, so we must be on our toes and ready to move at a moments notice, as this passionate sign tests us on how adaptable our nature is... for if we stand still as the world moves around us, we will find that the hard-earned lessons will present themselves.

Exact on Tuesday, November 26th at 7:06am PDT - this New Moon in Sag is here to help us upgrade our story arc after a period of re-writes and edits that have affected our previous plot lines. Old sceneries have lost their luster as we now desire to reach towards new vistas, and although we may not reach our destination today, we have to find the bravery to set-off on the journey. As we sit in the in-between period before eclipse season, we are much like our 8 of Wands archer who has many arrows in motion yet must be attentive to see where they land! So think of this time as a reconfiguration of what's possible, as we write in new narratives and stay at-the-ready to deal with whatever changes are already in motion.

The Aspects - The Saga Continues... 📖

Below is a chart of our New Moon at the time of conjunction here in San Diego, CA. Here we see our Sun & Moon in early degrees of Sag while Mars separates from his opposition with Uranus and Venus comes off her conjunction with Jupiter to head towards friction with Chiron. Messenger Mercury is also set up to show us what's next as it is configured to make its final passes to Neptune, Saturn, and Pluto. So let's not waste any time and dive right in...

There are less aspects at play than some of the recent lunation charts, yet there is still plenty going on in this New Moon story! Much has happened leading up to this moment as Scorpio season was chalked full with transitioning narrative - especially as Mercury retrograded through this space - and although those aspects are dissipating in energetic influence, their impact sticks with us as we prepare to turn the page of our personal stories.

Internal shifts have been taking place as Mars did a doozy of a transit through Libra and then entered Scorpio to oppose the disruptive yet awakening energy of Uranus. Venus also seeded her own celestial creative desires in conjunction with NM ruler Jupiter in the final degrees of passage through his domicile sign, a moment many astrologers had been touting as a 2019 highlight. Yet the action we have been waiting for may still be off in the distance, for as you can see from our pictorial reference, there are many arrows in flight right now and we may just be waiting to see where things land at this time.

Most of us are aware that the story is shifting and a new chapter awaits, yet we are still in this in-between period of reconfiguration as we remain patient for the dynamic pivots that are set to take center stage in Capricorn / Eclipse season. That doesn't mean we rest on our laurels per se, yet it does mean we may have to stay on our toes with the adaptable awareness that the story is in motion and we may have to, on occasion, strike while the iron is hot. There is a divine swiftness to this lunar period so be at the ready to make the most of it when new horizons call!

Now let's have a look at our NM ruler Jupiter in more detail, as the Great Benefic sits at the final degrees of his daytime domicile, already having imparted much of the lessons that were needing to be pushed forward during the last year since his ingress. You may want to look back at this time - around Dec 6th of 2018 - for that was our last NM in Sag which had the luminaries configured to Jupiter in early degrees. Revisiting that time and space may fully illustrate just how much our stories and personal beliefs on life have grown since that point in time, as this chapter wraps up to set our pen towards the next.

In fact, I looked back at my own writings and found my blog post was titled Big Dreams - and that is very much how I've felt since Jupiter's ingress into Sag and that NM, is that a dream was calling to many of us and it has taken this whole transit to get movement and traction in these areas, and as we now sit with only a week left of Jupiter in Sag, this lunar story helps transition and wrap up Jupiter's main goal of the Sag transit. Here is where the narrative upgrades, as we have new beliefs about ourselves and what we are capable of, as the experiences of the past year have provided us with custom learning experiences that were designed for our own brand of innate wisdom.

Now, messenger Mercury is the one that is going to carry this thing forward! Now in direct motion and ready to make its third and final passes with a strong and stationing Neptune, Saturn, & Pluto respectively, the pen is meeting the paper and the first lines of the chapter will begin to be written. The mind and our perceptions have been reconfigured and along with it so have our spiritual motivations and longterm goals and commitments. The power of divine intention is at play and as Mercury makes up its mind, Mars will soon follow along to put it all in motion, as we chase our dream's rainbow... and as a bonus icing on this cake, the messenger will arrive to this exact NM point on the Mercury ruled Gemini Full Moon! So while this period may start off a little sleepy, we will be moving with a swiftness by the culmination on December 11th... so set your course and prepare for those arrows to land a little sooner than you may think!

If you are a previous reader of my astroblog, you know I like to look at the Sabian Symbol of the lunation as it adds another bit of depth to the story that we are telling. As always, we take the degree and minutes and round up. Here we have the following:

5° Sagittarius - "The Old Owl Up A Tree"

Keyword: Normality

Theme: The Wisdom Of Self-Restraint

I love the imagery of this symbol because A) I love owls... let it be known! But more importantly, B) I feel like we are all old owls at this time as 2019 has provided many experiences for us to either open the door to new wisdom or test the wisdom we already embody. This old owl has been around the block after all, which means this wise creature is confident in what it knows, holds itself with dignity and self-respect, and has the sophistication of self-control. Very valuable traits to have, especially in today's world!

Now one key transit I left out above to add to this portion is the closest applying aspect during our NM is Venus - now in Capricorn - heading to a square with Chiron in Aries. Chiron, known as the "Wounded Healer" serves to help provide us with hard earned wisdom through our emotional triggers or subconscious pain responses. It may be time to open up in these areas so we can see our triggers for what they are and invite in the self-embodied wisdom that that will help us move past - or better deal with - these wounds that may get in our way or keep us from the story we'd like to live. So look into those triggers and see if you can't discern what message they are really trying to send... for the maturity of Venus in Capricorn will help us practically approach those provocations with emotional detachment and insightful prudence.
